Got the Look? : Awards Season Style

It’s Awards season and all the stars on the red carpet are setting trends and style standards.  While it’s Awards season, do you have your look?  Galas, formal events, and Valentine’s Day are just right around the corner.  Check out some of the designers represented by CreativPR below to check out their lines and find out below how to contact them to schedule your personal fitting today.  You can look just as good as the stars in Hollywood with these gorgeous looks from the designers shown below!  (All images are property of CreativPR.)

These haute couture looks in the Yvette collection are simply fabulous with the color palette ranging from deep dark fall colors to pastel.  The embellishments are just right on every look!

The O’Blanc collection is reminiscent of classic looks, A-line, and sheath.  These looks drape perfectly and every body type can find a style to fit them on the red carpet.  I love the use of the classic pan-tone colors and bold hues.  Anybody looking to be classic Hollywood chic can’t go wrong with this collection.

The Lum collection is very reminiscent of old Hollywood, the looks remind me of old films such as Cleopatra, and the looks of actresses Audrey Hepburn and Grace Kelly.  These looks seem as though their inspiration has derived from there and they are full of classic and strong lines and structures.

Drenusha Xharra brings the glam with these sleek metallic looks, soft lace, and a golden yellow glow in the line.  If you’re looking to be chic and modern, this is the way to go.  My fave look is #84, it’s fabulous…you can wear this on the red carpet and mix and match the pieces for a night on the town. You can’t go wrong with #84 or any of these looks!

AdolfoSanchez (Numbered at 1) 900px

Adolfo Sanchez’s collection is mesmerizing.  I love the soft teals, white, the entire palette!  I especially love the way that this collection builds up from modern/ chic to bring the drama with couture on the last picture #22.  The model is especially fierce, rockin’ her golden fro mohawk!  I love it!  The designers concept is clear and striking from onset to finish and this collection speaks volumes.  If you’re looking for anything bold, eye catching, dramatic, couture, or fabulous then you’ve found it all in this collection!

After you’ve chosen one of the looks from above, take the time to style it with one of these fabulous pieces from Chandra Jewelry.  In one of my older posts, Walk the Talk Event, I had the opportunity to meet one of the designers behind Chandra Jewelry and view their beautiful collection of accessories.  Trust me, you cannot go wrong with one of these pieces!  They are fantastic!

If you’re looking for something to wear to a formal or semi-formal event, definitely contact CreativPR, they will not steer you wrong with these talented fashion and jewelry designers on their roster.  For more details on setting up an appointment, click on this link for details.

Girls Night Out x Hush Philly

(L to R) Me, Qira, and Charelle.

Recently, I was able to link up with my girls from college and hang out for a day.  We hit up Hush Philly for their day party…at a secret location…you had to rsvp for details.  On Saturday, January 18, 2014, on the eve of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day…Hush Philly hosted their event at Red Sky, located in the Old City section of Center City Philadelphia.  Me and my girls had a good time, ran into some familiar faces and enjoyed the music by DJ Aye Boogie and DJ RTodaizza.  Pictures are worth a thousand words…so for this post…here are the recap pics!

There was definitely a great turnout!  Packed house!

Red Sky was packed all night, the party was from 3-9 pm, and free before 5pm to enter.  I think the party kept going on past 9pm, the place was packed all night!

It was nice to catch up with an old college buddy, Taurean, definitely had a good time.

Last but not least…me in my outfit for the day…

Black tank: Old Navy

I’m so mad because I had on  a cute robot necklace that I got from Macy’s smh…but I popped it!  lol.

As you can see, me and my girls had a good time at Hush Philly as well as everybody else who was in the building!  We talked, laughed, ate some really good food, danced, and met new people.  It doesn’t get any better—> Next Hush Philly event will be held on Saturday, March 15, 2014…keep your eyes peeled and stay tuned to the website to send in your rsvp for details when it gets closer to the event!

Style Inspiration: Bold Hues x Vintage Vibes

Hello.  I’m taking it back it a little with this post…a little personal.  I know that lately I’ve been posting a lot about events/ reviews of events/ artists in Philadelphia…but today…I’m posting about me and my personal style.  That’s how this blog started off initially, but I like a little bit of everything and I do not fit into anyone’s category, rather I am creating my own everyday while living this life and pursuing the dreams that I dream of daily.

On this particular day, I was in love with the contrasting color palette that I created for my day at the job.  I’m wearing my favorite royal blue cardigan from Old Navy, paired with a three quarter length white shirt, thrifted/ vintage oversized beaded necklace, black tuxedo pants, and riding boots from Macy’s.  I absolutely loved this look and felt as though it complemented my skin tone and curvy-licious shape!  Ow!

(Sorry for the blurry shots, it was hard to focus the camera with a draining battery pack- it was my fault lol)

To tell the truth, I love to wear layered looks…it gives me the versatility to remove layers when I become warm or to put them on as I cool off during the day.

No outfit is complete without a smile.  If you’re not happy or confident in your skin, then that feeling will show.  Your outfit only exudes the confidence and boldness that you carry on the inside daily.  Any insecurities will show, unless you know how to fake confidence.  Life is filled with uncertain circumstances and heart ache, but I choose to smile and be happy through it all.  What keeps me afloat is God and staying focused.  When I’m not blogging, just know that I am staying busy and handling business.  It’s important to stay focused no matter what.  Feelings change and so do opinions, but facts remain the same, so stay true and handle your business daily.

As always…thanks for stopping by and I hope this post inspires you to create bold and beautiful outfits from your inner confidence to your outer clothing layers.  Outfit deets are posted below.

Couture on the Runway x Lillie Designs

Lillie Feather Dress Photographed by Thein La Photography

In recent years, I have had the opportunity of witnessing the innovative and fabulous designs of the couture fashion line “Lillie Designs.”  Happening on Friday, February 7, 2014, at 7:00 p.m., Latasha Hall of Lillie Designs will be hosting her first ever major runway presentation showcasing the designs of her upcoming fall 2014 line.  I am so excited about this event, I know that it will be stunning and full of glamor on the runway stage!  This event will take place at “W Studio”, located on Delaware Ave in Philadelphia, PA.  This is one event that the fashion forward sure won’t want to miss!

Lillie Dress Photograped by Thein La Photography

The fall 2014 couture collection of Lillie Designs is inspired by the mystery and mysticism of Alice in Wonderland.  After seeing the beautiful designs by this young designer at Philly Fashion week in previous seasons, I am very excited to view this new collection!  This event will start with a cocktail reception, followed by the runway show, and an industry mixer.  I am doubly excited about this event and I am highly anticipating the runway looks Lillie Designs first official and major runway show!

Do you see the pictures of her designs in this post?  They are fabulous!  Thanks for stopping by!

Mommy in a (Little) Blue Dress….

Heyyyy!!!  Just a few weeks ago, I had the opportunity to attend the Philly Wine Mixer held in Philadelphia, PA, at the African American Museum of Art.  It truly is a wonderful showcase of music, art, and fashion.  Not only did guests have the opportunity to view the art on exhibit inside the museum, we had the chance to drink as much wine as we wanted, listen to real hip hop from artists such as Chase Allen and B.A.M., view products from local Philadelphia vendors such as Sch-Rel Desire Brand, Abstract Thought, and more.  There was also a fashion presentation by Tay Modisch, Shavonne Deann, Dhanistry, and a style presentation by Tash Banks.  The evening was full of successful Philadelphia based entrepreneurs, style, fashion, and art.

As you can see from the image above, I had a great night!  Being a full time mommy and employee….I need a break every once in awhile and this was my moment!  I took the time to “Live in the Moment!!!”  In my little blue dress.  After pregnancy and giving birth, my body hasn’t been the same.  It took long enough for my body to bounce back….or at least close to it.  I did feel a little self conscious in the dress, but I pulled it off—or at least I think I did!  At the end of the night….the fun wasn’t over….for part two…I wore the same dress, just styled differently…

I love this look too, the part two look!  Same dress, but casually paired with riding boots, tights, denim jacket and a clutch.  We stopped by a local bar to sip on apple cider margaritas, eat hot wings and french fries, and partake in karaoke with the locals.  It was an interesting night full of fun and weird facts.  Here’s my evening to late night quick change, while having a ball and living in the moment!!!

Dress: Old Navy

Heels: Calvin Klein

Necklace: Thrifted

Jacket: Ross

Tights and earrings: Forever 21

Boots: Macy’s

Clutch: It was a gift 🙂

Makeup: MAC

P.S….it was a rainy/ misty night…so my curls were gone with the rain!  I had to twist my hair up so I wouldn’t look crazy!
