Got the Look? : Awards Season Style

It’s Awards season and all the stars on the red carpet are setting trends and style standards.  While it’s Awards season, do you have your look?  Galas, formal events, and Valentine’s Day are just right around the corner.  Check out some of the designers represented by CreativPR below to check out their lines and find out below how to contact them to schedule your personal fitting today.  You can look just as good as the stars in Hollywood with these gorgeous looks from the designers shown below!  (All images are property of CreativPR.)

Yvette

These haute couture looks in the Yvette collection are simply fabulous with the color palette ranging from deep dark fall colors to pastel.  The embellishments are just right on every look!

O'Blanc

The O’Blanc collection is reminiscent of classic looks, A-line, and sheath.  These looks drape perfectly and every body type can find a style to fit them on the red carpet.  I love the use of the classic pan-tone colors and bold hues.  Anybody looking to be classic Hollywood chic can’t go wrong with this collection.

Lum

The Lum collection is very reminiscent of old Hollywood, the looks remind me of old films such as Cleopatra, and the looks of actresses Audrey Hepburn and Grace Kelly.  These looks seem as though their inspiration has derived from there and they are full of classic and strong lines and structures.

DR

Drenusha Xharra brings the glam with these sleek metallic looks, soft lace, and a golden yellow glow in the line.  If you’re looking to be chic and modern, this is the way to go.  My fave look is #84, it’s fabulous…you can wear this on the red carpet and mix and match the pieces for a night on the town. You can’t go wrong with #84 or any of these looks!

AdolfoSanchez (Numbered at 1) 900px

Adolfo Sanchez’s collection is mesmerizing.  I love the soft teals, white, the entire palette!  I especially love the way that this collection builds up from modern/ chic to bring the drama with couture on the last picture #22.  The model is especially fierce, rockin’ her golden fro mohawk!  I love it!  The designers concept is clear and striking from onset to finish and this collection speaks volumes.  If you’re looking for anything bold, eye catching, dramatic, couture, or fabulous then you’ve found it all in this collection!

CHANDRA

After you’ve chosen one of the looks from above, take the time to style it with one of these fabulous pieces from Chandra Jewelry.  In one of my older posts, Walk the Talk Event, I had the opportunity to meet one of the designers behind Chandra Jewelry and view their beautiful collection of accessories.  Trust me, you cannot go wrong with one of these pieces!  They are fantastic!

If you’re looking for something to wear to a formal or semi-formal event, definitely contact CreativPR, they will not steer you wrong with these talented fashion and jewelry designers on their roster.  For more details on setting up an appointment, click on this link for details.

MLK Day x Community x Building

(from the Seattle Times newspaper- google)

Today was the National Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service, a day of community involvement and growth.  While I was a college student, I faithfully participated in Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day of service while on campus.  However, once I graduated from college I believe that I lost sight about how powerful this day is.  It is a day when people from different backgrounds in the community come together in an effort to improve and empower from within using service and other community building exercises.  Once I graduated from college, I lost sight of that purpose and focus and used this day of service as a day to serve myself and sleep in.

Fast forward a couple of years and I’m now a mom and I want to teach my child the importance and value of community and what the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. stood for.  Lost are those days of complete selfishness laying up in my bed.  However even on this particular day, I did not have the opportunity to take my daughter out to participate in any of the wonderful community service activities that were happening, because I had to work.  To be honest, the bills need to paid and I have an extra mouth to feed.  I felt so bad while I was at work today, because I truly wanted to be out performing some community service.

When I was a college student I was heavily into serving the community. My friends and I would go downtown with Bibles and food to hand out to the homeless, we would volunteer at Chosen 300 homeless ministries, anytime a homeless person asked for food- I would buy it or give them my pre-packaged food- whatever.  I was also a Sunday School and VBS teacher for two years while I worked full time as an elementary level teacher.  I also went to local nursing homes alone and with friends to sing hymns with the elderly, talk with them, and read God’s Word.  All of this…and what happened?

I got caught up in my own self serving ways and failed to continue to recognize the need in the community for volunteers.  In my opinion this is sad and I failed myself and my community, however it isn’t too late to pick up where I’ve left off.  I haven’t made a New Year’s Resolution in years, but if there’s one worth making, it’s to find a location to volunteer at and take my daughter with me to teach her at this tender age how important it is to give back.  I just feel as though I’ve been taking all of these years and haven’t been giving back and it’s time for me to change that, because change begins within.

If there’s anything that I need to remember it is to remember the path that was paved for me by my forefathers and what their insight was into what the future could be for us all.  If anything, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. stood for the community and building, and if he said anything, he didn’t say to disregard other races, but rather to embrace them because we cannot categorize everyone in a single race to the hatred that some carry. As Dr. King stated in his famous “I Have A Dream” speech “We cannot walk alone.” He surely did not want me or anyone of us to carry that hatred or bitterness in our hearts.  Although I did not have the opportunity to participate in today’s beautiful community service events due to work obligations….I won’t let that stop me from serving.  You can hold me to it, I will find a place for baby girl and I to volunteer and support a charitable organization this year!  If you know of any great organizations, please share them with me in the comments section below.

Style Inspiration: Bold Hues x Vintage Vibes

Hello.  I’m taking it back it a little with this post…a little personal.  I know that lately I’ve been posting a lot about events/ reviews of events/ artists in Philadelphia…but today…I’m posting about me and my personal style.  That’s how this blog started off initially, but I like a little bit of everything and I do not fit into anyone’s category, rather I am creating my own everyday while living this life and pursuing the dreams that I dream of daily.

Image

On this particular day, I was in love with the contrasting color palette that I created for my day at the job.  I’m wearing my favorite royal blue cardigan from Old Navy, paired with a three quarter length white shirt, thrifted/ vintage oversized beaded necklace, black tuxedo pants, and riding boots from Macy’s.  I absolutely loved this look and felt as though it complemented my skin tone and curvy-licious shape!  Ow!

(Sorry for the blurry shots, it was hard to focus the camera with a draining battery pack- it was my fault lol)

To tell the truth, I love to wear layered looks…it gives me the versatility to remove layers when I become warm or to put them on as I cool off during the day.

No outfit is complete without a smile.  If you’re not happy or confident in your skin, then that feeling will show.  Your outfit only exudes the confidence and boldness that you carry on the inside daily.  Any insecurities will show, unless you know how to fake confidence.  Life is filled with uncertain circumstances and heart ache, but I choose to smile and be happy through it all.  What keeps me afloat is God and staying focused.  When I’m not blogging, just know that I am staying busy and handling business.  It’s important to stay focused no matter what.  Feelings change and so do opinions, but facts remain the same, so stay true and handle your business daily.

As always…thanks for stopping by and I hope this post inspires you to create bold and beautiful outfits from your inner confidence to your outer clothing layers.  Outfit deets are posted below.

The fall 2014 couture collection of Lillie Designs is inspired by the mystery and mysticism of Alice in Wonderland.  After seeing the beautiful designs by this young designer at Philly Fashion week in previous seasons, I am very excited to view this new collection!  This event will start with a cocktail reception, followed by the runway show, and an industry mixer.  I am doubly excited about this event and I am highly anticipating the runway looks Lillie Designs first official and major runway show!

Fashion Forward x SEE Eyewear x Trendsetter

About  a week ago, I posted about the dope and stylish eye wear boutique located in the Suburban Square section of Ardmore, PA, SEE and their new collection with Project Runway All Stars winner Mondo Guerra.  That collection was nothing short of fabulous and abstract in design.  But there is more to see at SEE, they have a trendy collection of eye wear and sun glasses for everyone from the trendsetter to the business casual.  Their frames are one of a kind, they only cut a few pairs from each mold and once they are sold out, that’s it for that design.  That the wonderful part about this boutique, you don’t have to worry about everybody wearing your frames.  Most of their frames are cut and designed in Germany to ensure quality to the customers of their brand.  Their selection of glasses are more affordable than most high end designer frames, but with SEE there is more variety and style to choose from, from geometric shapes to the classic cut.  Take a seat and check them out, I will divide this post into sections so that you can get a better feel for this stylish and quality eye wear that they offer.

It’s never too early to prepare for summer and spring with these dope shades:
