The Marquette Holiday Collection

This past weekend, I had the opportunity to attend a fierce fashion presentation and Charity event hosted by the Marquette Collection at the American Dreaming Building in Philadelphia, PA. The collection was amazing and full of gorgeous Haute Couture looks by the creator and designer of the line, Tyron.

Image

Pictured above is the creator of the Marquette Collection, Tyron, and one of his models wearing one of the looks from his line.  Tyron may only be 24 years old, but his design capabilities are way beyond his years, because his holiday collection is truly exquisite and mesmerizing!  Here are the runway looks from this fashion presentation.

The food was delicious!  My Forte, offered a variety of lasagnas at this event…which was new to me but I loved it!  They had salmon, turkey, buffalo chicken, and barbeque chicken lasagnas and they were yummmmy!!!!!!!  When you have a chance, check out My Forte!

Singer and entertainer GoGo Morrow was there to support as well!

Hair stylist extraordinaire Bethany Queen B. Bell was in attendance and styled some of the hair for the evening.

The hair was on point and constructed for couture!

Throughout the evening, I had the opportunity to network with some talented people and the assistant of the Marquette collection is one of them.  Her name is Quiana Harris and she will be showing her first collection in Philly very soon, Pumps ‘N ah Bow.

Holiday Shopping x Brand Bazaar at the Trocadero

This past Saturday, after going to the Macy’s light show in Center City, Philadelphia, baby girl and I stopped by the Brand Bazaar, sponsored by Heineken that was happening at the Trocadero theater.  There were many different local brands at this event to represent Philly and they did it well.

Out of all the brands that were in attendance, I was excited about meeting the owner of this one and speaking to him for a few minutes. The brand Kings Rule Together is one that I have admired for sometime now and it was great meeting the creator of the brand, Curran.  He is humble and cool, and had no problem having a few words with me.  I love his line of shirts and what they stand for.

Image

Image

Duke & Winston had plenty of inventory from their brand that was selling quickly to guests who were in attendance.  I love their vintage/ preppy style of clothing for men.

Image

Image

Local artist Ivben Taqiy had a variety of sweatshirts on sale that he personally painted and screen printed himself.

Image

Super Fly Mom line of t-shirts is a super fly line for moms and those who appreciate their hard working super fly moms!

Image

Image

I love this line of t-shirts!  The same creator of the line also has a brand for musicians entitled “I am a musician.”

Weirdo Clothing line definitely caught my eye with their innovative logo and dope clothing designs.  I love their members only jacket!

Image

Image

Weirdo Clothing Brand also has a line of scully’s to keep you warm during the winter months!

I love the designs that Babylon Cartel used in their line of intriguing items.  They have hats made from ostrich leather too!

I really enjoyed the creativity behind this brand, NativHype with the use of the teepee to promote and make their brand the center stage at this event.

Image

I love the concept behind the brand NativHype, it’s not about them being Native American but rather being native to their home city, Philly.

Image

NATRL BORN HEARTBRKERS had a bold line of t-shirts and sweats with children sizes available too!

Image

Live Girls was in the house vending their one of a kind vintage wear in the building.

These one of a kind candles smelled so fragrant!  The ladies of “Candelights” make each of these beautiful candles by hand!

As you can see, we had a ball!  Its good to support local brands and businesses, it helps to boost the economy!  As awalys…thanks for stopping by…we had a ball and supported local brands…take the time to check out some of these brands!

Macy’s for the Holidays!

This year, just like every year…baby girl and I went to Macy’s in Center City Philadelphia to enjoy the light show!!!  The show was spectacular just like every year and this year, my daughter was truly able to enjoy the show and be mesmerized by it.  Every time we walk into Macy’s now, she’s looking for the light show!  Although we had a great time…this year’s experience at the light show was a little different!

To begin with…Macy’s was packed with guests who were readily anticipating the start of the show….

Image

And that’s only the first floor….the second and third floors were just as packed with guests….

Image

All I can say is that I’ve never seen Macy’s this filled with guests over their light show.  Many blame it on the fact that they now have scheduled times every two hours for the show, as opposed to doing it every hour or half hour.  Whatever the case, the show must go on and it sure did!

Image

Image

Baby girl was focused on the show and would not move from her spot!

Although the event was hectic and overcrowded…it was well worth it for this beautiful, intelligent, funny, kind, and strong baby girl…
